This is a great FREE opportunity for all NODA members to learn more about dressage and specifically about Western Dressage from the comfort of your home with clinician Ida Norris, USEF "S" , WDAA "R" judge.

We kick off on January 9th in a Zoom Mtg at 7 pm where Ida will introduce her 4 session virtual series and give a lecture about the differences between Western and Classical Dressage.  At 8 pm she will open the call for questions and discussion.  For the next three Thursday evenings, Ida will delve into topics related to Western Dressage. 

Session 1 : January  9th at  7 PM

Session 2: January 16th at 7 PM

Session 3: January 23rd at 7 PM

Session 4: January 30th at 7 PM

 ALL are welcome to attend and no matter which discipline you ride, there will be useful information!

Welcome to an exciting exploration of Western Dressage with Ida Norris! This 4-part webinar series is designed to provide a thorough introduction to the sport, covering everything from the basics to more advanced concepts. Session #1 - January 9th -  What is Western Dressage All About?  Watch this recorded session

In this session, you’ll learn about the origins and fundamentals of Western Dressage. Ida will walk you through the history, how it differs from traditional dressage, and how it combines the beauty of classical dressage with the Western riding tradition. It’s a fantastic way to understand the unique aspects of this sport.

Session #2 - January 16th -  Rules I Need to Know   Watch this recorded session

This session will cover the essential rules and guidelines governing Western Dressage competitions. You’ll gain a solid understanding of what’s expected from riders, horses, and judges. This knowledge will help ensure you are prepared for any competition and can navigate the rules confidently.

Session #3 - January 23rd -  Judges Jargon    Watch this recorded session

In this final session, Ida will decode the judges' language used in Western Dressage. Understanding the terms, phrases, and criteria judges use will help you interpret feedback and improve your performance. It’s an essential part of mastering the sport and preparing for future competitions.

Session #4 - January 30th - Introductory and Basic Tests    Watch this recorded session

Here, you’ll dive into the introductory and basic tests of Western Dressage. Ida will help you understand how the tests are structured, the movements involved, and what the judges are looking for. Whether you’re planning to compete or just enjoy the learning process, this webinar will give you the tools to succeed in these early levels.
