Northern Ohio Dressage Association
March 18, 2020
Dear NODA Members,
I am writing to inform you of NODA's position regarding the current COVID-19 outbreak. This morning USDF issued a news release regarding the suspension of accepting scores from USEF-licensed/USDF-recognized competitions through April 15th. They also decided “that any USDF organized or hosted educational events scheduled through the weekend of May 22-24, 2020, will be cancelled with the intention to reschedule them for a future date.”
As a GMO of USDF, I feel it is our responsibility to cancel all NODA educational events through May 24th, and support USDF's decision. At this time, NODA will be cancelling our participation with CADS on April 25th for the Freestyle Clinic, and the Western Dressage Clinic on May 2nd-3rd.
Also, as a precautionary measure, we are cancelling the May 17th NODA schooling show at Chagrin Valley Farms. Due to the uncertainty of the of the Coronavirus pandemic, NODA must consider the impact on our members, competitors, show staff, volunteers, as well as the boarders and owners of CVF.
We do not take this decision lightly. If any changes are necessary regarding the requirements to qualify for the NODA Schooling Show Championship and any possible impacts on NODA Year-end Awards, we will address them as needed. We will continue to monitor the situation. I am hopeful that we will only have to cancel the above-mentioned events. All future events are still scheduled at this time.
Our main priority is the wellbeing of all and preventing the spread of COVID-19. To stay up to date regarding USDF, USEF and NODA news go to:
